How to Adjust the Timer Settings for Your Merchants’ Payment Terminals

iPOSpays allows ISOs to configure various timer settings for their merchants’ payment terminals. These settings control how long the terminal waits during different activities, such as user inactivity, card entry, communication, warning messages, application downloads, and settlement. This document explains how to adjust the timer settings for your merchants’ payment terminals in the iPOSpays portal.


Access the Timer Settings

  1. Log into the iPOSpays portal using your ISO credentials.
  2. Go to S.T.E.A.M → Edit Parameters.
  3. Using the search box, locate and select the required TPN.
  4. Click Edit Parameter.
  1. Go to the Miscellaneous tab.
  2. Under Timer, configure the required timer settings.

Configure the Timer Settings

The Timer section provides the following settings:

Screen Idle Timer (sec)

Specifies how long the terminal remains inactive before the screen enters its idle state.

Card Entry Screen Timeout (sec)

Specifies how long the card entry screen remains active while waiting for the customer to present or enter their card.

Note: 90 seconds is recommended for SPIn and PIN Pad mode.

Communication Timeout (sec)

Specifies how long the terminal waits for a response during communication before the request times out.

Warning/Pop Up Message Timer (sec)

Specifies how long warning or pop-up messages remain displayed on the terminal screen.

Device Sleep Timer (mins)

Specifies how long the terminal can remain inactive before entering sleep mode.

App Download Timer (mins)

Specifies the time allowed for an application download operation before it times out.

Settlement Time Out (sec)

Specifies how long the terminal waits for the settlement process to complete before timing out.

Enter the required value for each timer based on the merchant’s requirements.


Save the Timer Settings

After configuring the required timer settings:

  1. Click Save to apply the changes to the selected TPN.

    OR

  2. Click Save As Template to save the configured parameters as a template for future use.

Perform a parameter update on the merchant’s payment terminal for the updated timer settings to take effect.
